Democracy is a collective will...

In a democracy collective consciousness prevail. But, in our country what we see is not a democracy but a mobocracy, where, if you have money or muscle power, then you can rule the roost.

The reactions by society, the recent mob furies that's happening is just because their beloved democracy is in shambles now and the criminal or civil justice system is in shatters in our country.

Look at the way, Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan are roaming around even after sentenced to rigourous imprisonment. People are fed up with this kind of things and and i am not sure, whether these furies are collective will of the people as democracy is.
It gives me a feeling that if i get more money or more power, i can do whatever i want and roam around freely.

Common man is bored and dejected about this lawlessness in our society and that is the reason why people take law in their own hands. I am not defending the mob fury, which should not happen, but it is a reaction of the continuous failure of our criminal and civil justice system.

Justice Delayed is Justice Denied...Can someone tell me one good reason, why home ministry is still sitting on afzal guru's mercy plea...An attack on parliament is lesser compared to afzal's life. As an ordinary citizen, i want afzal to be hanged or stoned to death, because he attacked my very own belief in democracy.

When we will learn...?

We require a blast to find out that there is a security lapse... We require a person to die in a manhole, for corporation to understand that all manholes should be closed... We require some school children to die in a fire accident, to understand that schools should have fire protection systems... We require somebody to die in a hospital to understand that all hospitals should be properly equipped with doctors and medicines... We require our ex.PM to die in a bomb blast to find out that our intelligence network is bad... We require a Tsunami to claim 20000 lives to install a Tsunami warning system... This list is endless...When are we going to act proactively to save normal citizens of our country...

India spent $14bn on Cars in 2007...

Is it not a huge amount, by any standards...yes, but the most alarming thing is that it is poised for a 5 fold increase in another 8 years which will be $100bn approx. It includes cars, parts & accessories, etc.

The big question is...will our infrastructure see a 5 fold increase in these 8 years.

All these manufacturers want to squeeze the bubble called indian economy. but, as indians we want our economy to last long and grow. we don't require more cars, but more of infrastructure first. Once, infrastructure comes in, then automatically others will follow.

Now, we are seeing the reverse of it. We are getting dumped with cars, without any increase in roads.
More aeroplanes are coming to our country, but the airports are pathetic.

Let us think.

Fascinating Atoms

It is a fascinating world of atoms. We all know that atoms are the backbone of anything and everything that we find in the world.

Till 100 years back, we were thinking that we cannot break atoms, but that logic was short lived as we broke the atoms and the result is the deadly atom bombs. We all know that atoms are made of protons and neutrons. One important aspect about atoms is that, if we were able to rearrange the protons and neutrons, then we can make human tissues from animal cells and make diamond out of charcoal.

For eg.if a charcoal is made of 5p & 6n and a diamond is made of 6p & 5n, if it can be rearranged, the a charcoal can be converted into a diamond. Fascinating is it...?

But, imagine the consequences, if the scientist community is able to achieve this feat...Unimaginable. No human being will die as we will kill animals for their tissues as well and live longer life. We have to migrate to Mars, as earth will be full.
Let us start doing small things. Stop taking print outs from computers, when we can use soft copies instead of hard copies. A paper not used will save a tree from getting cut.

Already our himalayan glaciers are drying and dying. Governments across the world and the ministers ruling the countries will not do much, as they are all busy in money making as if the world will be their own. None of us are going to carry anything with us when we die.

At least plant a small sapling in your backyard. If you don't have space for a mango or banyan tree, a small tulsi plant will also add value as even this plant absorbs carbondioxide and release oxygen.

Let us leave (if not a better world) atleast a place for our gen.next to live.

Joy of Parenthood...

It is good to be a son or daughter and look upon your parents for anything and everything...Even after 35 years in this world, i look upon my parents for their advice. It is always nice to hear the compassionate and supportive words of your parents in the time of sadness and it gives a lot of energy.

Moreso, now i am a parent myself and 6 years since my daughters birth and 3 years of my son. I really enjoy the time with them and it gives me double pleasure as well as pressure, when these 2 kids look upon me. They expect me to give them bath, put their dress on, take them out and teach them when they require. They listen to my soft and harsh words. It is pleasure...and pressure just because, whether i can be like my parents.

My parents gave me everything which is possible from their side and encouraged me in whatever i wanted to do. As a parent, i try to emulate my parents and even if i do it 50% of what my parents did, then i will be a proud parent.
Definitely the joy of parenthood is much much more than the joy of being a child.

Now-a-days, some of the young and newly married couple tell me that they want to postpone their 1st child and god only knows whether their reasons are valid enough...but surely, one has to have children. It is the ultimate joy anyone can get.

Relish the happiness of being a parent.

Why Auto Drivers should be denied of this oppurtunity...?

Now, all public transport vehicles in Bangalore, especially the AC buses run by BMTC are having advertisements on the window panels. Even Calltaxi operators get revenue thru.ads on their door panels.

Auto drivers also can be given this oppurtunity, so that they also can earn additional money thru.these ads.

I am not sure, why this oppurtunity should be denied to these poor people, or just because they are poor, they are denied this...!!!

When people will stop cheating Middle Class...?

I was invited for a meeting by one of my neighbours and told me that there is a surprise waiting for me. Meeting started and the people in the meeting were excited when the presenter gave a detailed speech.

The presenter was giving lecture on a "Chain System", wherein, i have to buy a particular product by paying a particular sum and i get 20% instant discount and if i introduce 3 more people, then i get 20% of the value of their purchase as well and when more and more people join this system, i being the 1st introducer gets more income without having to work.

So, he gave graphics and showed that without any efforts i will be getting Rs.55000 per month and the crowd is excited about it. A video was shown wherein one person claims that he has become a millionaire and he is only 29 and he has retired.

Seeing this some from the crowd paid Rs.4500 and applied for the product which was worth Rs.6000 and they even told me that they have saved Rs.1500 straightaway. Utter foolishness. The products contains, toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps, shaving cream, and other cosmetic items. For a normal family of 4 to 6, this will be their 1 year's consumption. I am not sure, why i have to pay Rs.4500 now for my 1 year's consumption and that too non-branded products.

Secondly, even assuming that i introduce 3 more people and i get 20% of their purchase worth, i am not sure, whether everybody will have Rs.4500 which is the minimum amount of purchase required in the scheme to pay and buy the products. How many middle class people can afford this.
Middle class normally wants to become rich and this is taken advantage by many people including fly-by-night Chitfund companies by those referred above.

Sick Mentality. People should realise that there is nothing called free meal and you can't become rich without making any efforts. Lest, GOD alone can save them.

Kalam's Tenure

i disagree on all counts with you, friend.
1) On Bihar episode, he does not have any option, and that too at midnight when the government says that it is sending the proclamation again, then he is duty bound to do it.
2) Same is the case with Office of Profit Bill too. He was forced to sign, when the bill was sent to him the 2nd time and PM himself personally requesting him on this bill.
3) K.R.Narayan also expressed his wish for a 2nd term and i think since congress does not extend its support to him, he has to withdraw from the race.
4) If you make political instability as the yardstick, then i think SD Sharma also scores on this and to some extent R.V also has faced such issues.
5) Kalam deserves all respects, as he made the post of presidency not as an ornament, but a respectable post.
6) Yes, he is simple and modest and with this quality, he has reached greater heights. I read a newsitem this morning, wherein when he vacates Rashtrapathi Bhavan, his luggage is just 2 suitcases containing his prized possessions of books and his clothing.
I don't know, what bias you have for Prathiba Patil or KR Narayan, but Kalam deserves a special place in the country, just for the reason he dreamt for the common man in a way, nobody has dare to dream in the past 50 years.

Mr.PRESIDENT SIR, WE MISS YOU

These kind of people are born once in a century. Really a president who does not follow any protocol, when he meets common man or when common man wanted to meet him. In his 5 years tenure, he could have met close to 1 million indians, mostly children and generation next. He is truly a visionary, who wanted our country to be a super power and developed in true sense of the word.

OUR BELOVED PRESIDENT SIR, WE DEFINITELY MISS YOU AT THE HIGHEST OFFICE OF OUR BELOVED COUNTRY. YOU HAVE MADE THE POST OF PRESIDENT A TRULY PEOPLES' POST.

WE MISS YOU AND WE PRAY THAT WE GET ONE MORE KALAM DURING OUR LIFE TIME.

The Sick Indian Middle Class Mentality

Gandhi once said, "If you want a change to happen, then you should be that change". Golden words.
Common middle class indian want everything to be perfect, say proper roads, good medical facilities, etc.as in developed countries and blames the authorities and govt.for not taking care of some basic facilities.

He wants change, but never want to be that change.
Each one of us go into our shells when a common issue comes up, as we are basically afraid of antagonising anything and everything. As i was driving my bike to drop my kid to school, i saw that the roads that leads to the school was laid last week and it is washed away in 2 days after a brief spell of rain. I just got irritated on seeing this and wanted to change this and punish the erring contractor.....
But, the slackness of mind and it is time to school for my daughter and i have to ignore this and digest it saying that it is my fate.
As i want to be the change as Gandhi pointed out, suddenly..."Sick Indian Middle Class Mentality" comes up and i am back in roads thinking it is my fate.
